My enjoyment
of playing guitars led me to Dusty Strings in Seattle where
I saw a harp guitar. I had to have one but could not afford it.
This turned me on to the idea of guitar making. Thus I submerged
myself in Guitar Making Tradition and Technology as well as the
Internet. Old issues of The Guild of American Luthiers
journals provided a plan and much sage advice from other builders.
These gave me the confidence for my first venture, a six string
guitar with a neck fit for a giant. Not to be deterred I continued
building. This started out to be a means to an end, but I was hooked!
I have been building, retooling and revising methods ever since
in a quest to make my instruments a pleasure to the eye as well
as the ear.
